Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is not ready to label his side as favourites for the Barclays Premier League title after their 4-0 win over Tottenham sent them top of the league. The Reds took charge from the second minutes when Younes Kaboul was rushed into putting through his own net. Further goals from Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson completed a performance Rodgers described as "immense" even though he shied away from talk his team are now odds-on in many people's minds for a first title since 1990.

Rodgers said "That is the dream for our supporters, they want to win the title. It's been a long time title here, but for us it's not my thinking."

Rivals Manchester City and Chelsea both failed to win this weekend, but Rodgers is not worried about what others are doing.

"No, not really. It's eight games in a row we've won," he said.

"In terms of ourselves that can only be our concentration. There are some big opponents in this league, you can't worry yourself about other teams.

"Our next job, and my next job, is to analyse West Ham (Liverpool's next opponents) tomorrow."

Speaking about their latest demolition, which now sees Liverpool having scored 88 league goals, he added: "I enjoy watching them every day and today to take into the pressure situation and perform like did from first whistle was an immense performance. I'm very proud of the team. We don't feel it (the pressure). We're very confident with how we play. You see the confidence in how the players pass the ball and the movement and the intensity and aggression in their play to know that they are very calm and focused on the job at hand. It was a wonderful team performance."
