Liverpool are now six points clear in the final Champions league spot in the Premier League.
They raced into a 2-0 lead at home to Swansea through Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson.
But the Swans soon pegged them back to make it 2-2. Sturridge hit his second of the game before the break. The Welsh side levelled the game once more through Wilfred Bony, and despite their battling performance, Jordan Henderson hit Liverpool's fourth after 74 minutes.
Spurs then lost more ground on the top four, as they went down 1-0 away to Norwich City. Robert Snodgrass scoring early in the second half to help pull the Canaries away from the drop zone.
And Newcastle picked up their first win in five, as a Loic Remy goal in stoppage time gave them a 1-0 win at home to Aston Villa.
