Rory McIlroy claimed the US PGA Championship last night.

The World Number One won his second major in-a-row and his fourth altogether at a rain-soaked Valhalla.

Play was delayed as parts of the course flooded due to the heavy rain.

When McIlroy did finally tee off, the Ulsterman struggled on the front nine, losing his overnight lead as he shot a 1 over in his first nine holes.

But he took control after the turn, as he eagled the tenth before claiming two more birdies in a round of 68 that saw him finish on 16 under par, one clear of Phil Mickelson in second.

It means he is the first golfer to win back to back majors since Padraig Harrington in 2008 and the third youngest of all time to win four majors.

Meanwhile, Shane Lowry & Graeme McDowell both ended up on 1 under par in a tie for 47th place.
