Ryan Giggs is not ready for the top job at Old Trafford according to former Republic of Ireland international Kevin Kilbane.

The former Everton winger reckons Jose Mourinho is Manchester United’s best option, because there is no other top managers available.

Inter Milan director Bedy Moratti claimed that the self styled Special One is on the cusp of taking the reins at Old Trafford.

Moratti, is the sister of former Inter president Massimo. She ruled out a return to the San Siro for Mourinho, and told reporters he’d be making the move to Manchester

"No, he’s happy now, he’s going to Manchester."

Speaking about his future earlier this week, Mourinho told La Stampa: "My next challenge, my next club? I really don’t know."

"I just know that I love football and I will be back with the same passion and ambition as ever, having during this period a respectful behaviour to every manager and every club."

"I don’t search for clubs, clubs search for me," Mourinho added. Kilbane believes current boss Louis van Gaal won’t last until the end of the season. He’s backing the former Chelsea boss to succeed him.

Ryan Giggs is also thought to be in the running to take the top job at Old Trafford, but Kilbane doesn’t believe the Red Devils’ legend is ready for the big gig:

Kevin Kilbane was speaking to Jamie Moore at the Aviva FAI Junior Cup quarter-final draw, the full interview was broadcast on 98FM's Now That's What I Call Sport.
