Manchester City are holding their own against Barcelona in this Champions League round of 16 second leg at the Nou Camp.

It's nil all at half time but, of course, the Mancunians are chasing down a two goal deficit from the Etihad leg.

Barca look a pale shadow of their former selves but should have been awarded a penalty when Joleon Lescott took down Lionel Messi in the box but the ref waved away penalty claims.

Brazilian striker Neymar saw a near post effort saved by City keeper Joe Hart and Xavi had a shot cleared by Hart as well before Neymar - set up by Messi - despatched a curler which was headed off the line by Fernandinho.

It wasn't all Barca though and the best City move of the half saw an attacking triangle of Yaya Toure, David Silva and Samir Nasri combine for the Frenchman Nasri to fire in a shot which was saved by Victor Valdes in the Barca goal.

Hope springs eternal for City and a potentially exciting 45 minutes looms in Catalonia.
