Irish boxer Joe Ward is set to make his professional debut at Madison Square Garden on October 5.

The Irish Sun is reporting that the Moate light-heavyweight will feature on the undercard of the Gennady Golovkin and Sergiy Derevyanchenko world title bout.

Ward's opponent is yet to be confirmed as the Westmeath man prepares to link up with trainer Buddy McGirt in the next few weeks.

Ward was in Dublin earlier this month to speak to the media with his new management team.

The 25-year-old will be managed by Joey Winters and Adam Glenn of Times Square Boxingm while Lou DiBella and Ken Casey will share promotional duties.
