The draws have been made for this year's Munster and Leinster Senior Hurling Championships.

The provincial hurling championships are reverting to their original knockout format, but there will be a qualifier system, and an All-Ireland quarter final series.

It all builds up to the All Ireland Senior Hurling final, which has been set for December 13.

The Leinster Hurling Championship will begin with a quarter-final meeting of Eddie Brennan's Laois and Matty Kenny's Dublin.

The winners of that tie will face Kilkenny in the Leinster semi-finals.

There's a heavyweight contest on the other side of the draw with Galway meeting Wexford.

Munster draw

Neighbours Clare and Limerick will square off in the Munster quarter-final.

Awaiting the winners of that one will be none other than reigning All Ireland champions Tipperary.

Standing between Waterford and a first Munster final since 2016 are Cork.

The Leinster and Munster quarter-finals are scheduled for the weekend of October 24-25.

The semi-finals in both provinces will be played over October 30-November 1.

And the Leinster and Munster hurling finals are slated for the weekend of November 14-15.
