Former All Ireland winner Cliodhna O’Connor has been brought into the Dublin Ladies management team for the 2021 season.

Two-time All Star O'Connor has already had plenty of success in coaching since retiring from the inter-county football in 2014.

The former Dubs goalkeeper was part of the Cuala backroom team that won back-to-back All Ireland club hurling titles in 2017 and 2018.

O’Connor has also held a role with the Dublin senior hurlers as an athletic performance coach under former Cuala boss Mattie Kenny.

The former Dubs number one has worked with the LGFA in Croke Park on a number of coaching initiatives and has coached with her club Naomh Mearnóg.

O’Connor was Dublin’s first-choice keeper between 2002 and 2014 and was part of the 2010 All Ireland winning team.

She also played in the 2003, 2004, 2009 and 2014 TG4 All Ireland finals, receiving All Stars in 2004 and in 2009.

O’Connor was the only Dub to be named on the LGFA / TG4 Team of the Decade in 2010.

Dublin LGFA says she "will be a huge asset" to the Dublin set up when they return to action later this year and go in search of a fifth All Ireland title in a row under Mick Bohan.
