Republic of Ireland international Matt Doherty came off at half time during Wolves' 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League last night.

The 27-year-old picked up an injury in the first half at Molineux and was replaced at the break by Adama Traore.

It was only Doherty's third start of the season after suffering a knee injury in a pre-season friendly against Huddersfield last month.

The Dubliner missed both legs of the Europa League qualifier against Crusaders but he did return and scored in the first leg win over Pyunik in Armenia on August 8.

Doherty also started Wolves’ first Premier League game of the season against Leicester City on August 11.

Wolves are away to Torino in the Europa League play-off on Thursday before they host Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ireland boss Mick McCarthy included Doherty in his squad for the Euro 2020 qualifier against Switzerland on September 5.

However, the Wolves defender has only started one qualifier so far, with captain Seamus Coleman the preferred choice for McCarthy.
