The black card Denis Bastick received earlier this month in the Allianz League against Kerry has been rescinded.

The Dubs star was penalised for an altercation with Kieran Donaghy and ordered off the pitch.

He appealed the decision and, after watching video evidence, the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee decided that Bastick didn’t deliberately pull down his opponent.

However, he was found guilty of rough play, which is a yellow card offence.

Any outstanding punishment has been set aside.

The statement from the Central Hearings Committee read:

“The Hearings Committee found that the video evidence provided was sufficiently compelling to prove that the Defending Party did not deliberately pull down an opponent.

“However, it found that a lesser infraction of rough play had occurred.

“The Committee directed that the original fixed penalty for the cynical behaviour infraction be set aside.”
