Irish heavyweight Darren O'Neill claimed a stoppage win in this evening's European Olympic qualifying session in Turkey.

The Kilkenny man stopped Sweden's Gabriel Richards in the 1st round to progress to the last-eight where he joins teammate David Oliver Joyce.

The lightweight boxer and three-time EU champ made it into the next round after a unanimous points victory over Otar Eranosyan from Georgia.

Middleweight Michael O'Reilly was beaten on a unanimous decision in his last-16 bout by Finland's Ilari Kijala but will have another chance to qualify for Rio in June.
