A group of Dublin pals got the shock of their lives when what they thought was a €5,000 EuroMillions win turned out to be a whopping €255,000.
The trio, who bought their ticket at SuperValu in Killester, were thrilled with the initial €5k prize. But after scanning the ticket online, they discovered an extra €250,000 had been added as part of a special Ireland-only raffle running throughout May.
The lucky ticket was kept safely under a mattress until they could claim their prize. One of the winners joked: “You’d swear my car knew I’d come into money – it’s just started giving up on me. So, a new car is definitely on the list.”
With six more €250,000 top-up prizes still to be won in the coming weeks, Dubliners are being encouraged to grab a ticket and dream big.
