Plans have been lodged for the second phase of the Dublin Arch project, that will see hundreds of homes built beside Connolly Station.

The scheme includes 741 homes, two office buildings, shops and a 246-bed hotel. A cycle hub is also planned.

While Ballymore, the company behind the development, says it will also be the new home to Docklands Boxing Club and St. Joseph’s O’Connell Boys GAA Club. Both organisations are to get state-of-the-art facilities.

The developer says the project will create over 1,000 direct construction jobs for five years.

It's expected 5,000 people will be working or living in the area when it's complete.

Permission was granted earlier this year for the first part of the Connolly Quarter development.
