Plans for Dublin's proposed white water rafting course have been stopped, due to uncertainty over funding for the controversial project.

Dublin City Council says a lack of external funding and the expected construction cost has led to the project being put on hold.

The facility at George's Dock was first approved in 2019 and was expected to cost €25m.

The local authority says the proposal will be reviewed next year.
