Irish people are staying at home with their parents until they're 25 years old.

A new study by Eurostat has found it's harder for men to leave their parental home than women.

Fellas wait until they're 26 and a half, compared to just under 25 for woman.

The figures are in sharp contrast to those for Scandinavian countries where children are barely out of their teens when they get their own place.

The Being Young in Europe survey also shows that Ireland has the youngest population in Europe.

A million people, or just over a fifth of the population are under the age of 15.
