If you look up to the sky on Christmas Eve this year, you should be able to see Santa's sleigh.

Weather Alert Ireland says it has "been in contact with Mrs Clause" and she confirmed that Santa will indeed be leaving the North Pole early on Christmas Eve.

Santa and his reindeer will cross over Ireland just at 5:17PM and will stay in view until 5:22PM. Santa's sleigh moves at such a high speed and he will look like a fast moving star.

Mrs Clause said she has her fingers crossed for clear skies so we can all wave to Santa.

Astronomers have confirmed a large asteroid is due to fly by Earth on December 24th. It's more than 2 kilometers wide, but will be almost 30 times further away than the Moon.

Whatever its name, you should be able to see it shooting through the night sky on Christmas Eve; which will be magical for the little people in your life.
