Work on getting legislation ready so the outcome of the abortion referendum can take effect, is expected to take place over the summer.
It's after yesterday's landslide vote to repeal the 8th amendment.
The Health Minister will ask for permission from the cabinet this week to start work on the new laws that are needed.
