A woman in her mid 80s has died following a house fire in County Kerry.
The blaze broke out at about nine o'clock last night at the woman's home in Ballyferriter.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and gardaí are investigating.
The remains of the woman, who lived alone, have been removed to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee for a post mortem.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
