We've been enjoying a mild January so far, but the weather is expected to get colder this week.

From Wednesday, temperatures will fall to below normal with frost expected. Met Eireann says it will feel 'noticeably colder' with a 'mix of sunny spells and showers'. Some of the showers will be heavy with hail and the slight risk of thunder. Minimum temperatures of -3 to +2 degrees in moderate northwest breezes.

Meteorologist with Met Eireann Siobhan Ryan says it will be cold but there is no snow expected for now.
