Up to ten anti-water charge protesters are due to be brought before the High Court for allegedly obstructing the installation of water meters in North Dublin.

GMC Sierra, the company employed to put in the meters, wants to exclude demonstrators coming within 20 metres of the works.

This is not the first time GMC Sierra has brought water protesters to court.

Today a further ten demonstrators are due to appear for allegedly breaching an injunction not to intimidate, harass or obstruct workers installing water meters.

The company says it's nearly impossible to carry out their job in North Dublin due to chaotic protests involving groups of up to 40 people on any given day.

There is a chance the protesters could be jailed if they are found to have breached the court order.
