Nurses at St Vincent's Hospital are refusing to leave patients' bed sides this morning due to the overcrowding crisis.
They've begun a work to rule to force management to prioritise patients and hire extra staff.
Nurses say the scale of overcrowding in the emergency department is not being acknowledged by management.
INMO union members also say they're being routinely asked to carry out admin work which gives them less time to spend on medical duties.
Extra resources have been put in place for the duration of the protest but Philip McAnenly from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says that proves they're right to be angry:
