Two Teenage Boys Have Died After Getting Into Difficulty Swimming In Clare

Two 15-year-old boys have died after getting into difficulty while swimming in Co. Clare.

At around 3.30pm this afternoon, gardaí and emergency services were called to an incident involving a group of young people at a quarry in Knockanean in Ennis.

A number of people who were swimming had gotten into difficulty.

The two teenagers were recovered from the water by the Coast Guard Rescue 115 helicopter, and CPR was performed.

They were airlifted to University Hospital Limerick in a critical condition.

The two boys were later declared dead.

Their names won't be released until family members have been notified.
