Two Arrested Over 2022 Finglas Guns And Ammo Seizure

Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in Dublin almost two years ago.

On February 10th 2022, Gardaí raided nine addresses in the Finglas area that were suspected of being utilized by organised crime groups.

Two firearms, 300 rounds of ammunition and over €47,000 in cash was seized. While Dublin city council took control of a number of the properties and boarded them up.

It followed a number of serious incidents related to criminal activity in the area.

Two men, aged 22 and 30, were arrested in the Finglas area yesterday as part of the investigation.

They are being questioned at a garda station in west Dublin and can be held for up to 3 days.

A garda spokesperson says; "Gardaí investigating the seizure of two suspected firearms and ammunition seized during a number of searches conducted by Gardaí in the Finglas area on Thursday, 10th February, 2022 have today, Thursday, 11th January 2024, arrested two men.

"The two men (age 30 years and 22 years) were arrested in the Finglas area and are detained under section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939, as amended at a Garda Station in West Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing."
