A 22 year old man is due in court this morning in connection with a firearm seizure in Ballymun.
It followed the search of a car on Monday evening.
At around 5pm on Monday a car was stopped on Carton Way close to the Ikea store in Ballymun after reports of suspicious activity.
Officers found a 9 millimetre gun in the footwell of the front passenger seat, along with 3 rounds of ammunition and a silver silencer.
Two men in their 20s were arrested at the scene and taken to Coolock garda station.
A 22 year old is due in court this morning in connection with the find.
A 25 year old man has been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
