Some pack everything but the kitchen sink when they travel, while others leave it behind them at Dublin Airport.
Dublin Airport Authority has revealed the bizarre items left by travelers which include a sink, a 15kg boulder from an Irish beach and a toilet seat.
One of the more ironic finds included a headstone bearing the message,"You will always be remembered, never forgotten". However, the owner of that gravestone did seem to forget about it and it was discovered abandoned at the drop-off point to the departures area at Terminal One a few years ago, according to DAA spokeswoman Audrey O'Hagan.
She added that people are also keen to get their beloved pets through security with goldfish, turtles and puppies all being stopped by staff.
"Just two weeks ago, somebody tried to bring a goldfish ... so they had a goldfish in a 2 litre bottle of water and there, they had a little goldfish that they wanted to take away with them", explains Audrey.
"They couldn't, so believe it or not, that fish has since been re-homed by a staff member here and it's in their fish pond in Malahide".
Whilst the likes of mobile phones, passports and travel documents are the more common items passengers misplace, wheelchairs, crutches, glass eyes and false teeth also end up in Dublin Airport's lost and found.
If you have misplaced an item, you have three months to reclaim it.
"You can log it online using an online form", explains Audrey, "and if you're looking to see if your item has arrived into lost property, we update that website or you can email lostproperty@daa.ie".
