Beach goers are being advised to watch out for heavy sea fog after three teenagers had to be rescued yesterday on Sandymount Strand.
The girls became disorientated when visibility suddenly dropped to about 100 metres and because of the incoming tide, they quickly found themselves surrounded by water.
They called for help on their mobile phone and Dun Laoghaire lifeboat managed to find them.
Crew member Mark McGibney says rolling sea fog can quickly come ashore:
In a separate incident yesterday, a girl was rescued by the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard after breaking her leg between Bullock Harbour and Pilot View.
A group of teenagers were climbed the rock face to do some diving, when the accident happened.
