Staff installing water meters have been forced to stop work in a number of parts of Dublin.
It's after protestors and Gardai clashed during demonstrations in Santry and Coolock earlier this week.
Now the president of the Garda Representative Association has confirmed that officers are recording protests at water meter installations.
The association representing rank and file Gardaí says three officers are being assaulted every day by demonstrators.
It's concerned that recent protests, particularly in north Dublin, are threatening their personal safety.
Michael O'Brien also defended how Gardai have handled protests including shoving a woman out of the way.
