The Junior Social Protection Minister says his department is getting through the backlog of applications for the back-to-school allowance as quickly as possible.
Children have begun heading back to school, but 28 thousand out of 49 thousand applications still weren't finalised as of last week.
Up to 40 million euro has been ring-fenced for the means-tested allowance, which is worth 100 euro for primary school and 200 euro for secondary school students.
