This Dublin Butcher Won't Close For 96 Hours Before Christmas

A Dublin butchers has decided to open for 96 hours straight in the lead up to Christmas Day.

James Whelan Butchers will open their Dunnes Stores, Cornelscourt shop as a "safety net" for any last minute Turkey and Ham shoppers.

Pat Whelan said it is "amazing" that their small business is "able to operate on a 24 hour basis in the lead up to Christmas".

"It's Christmas you never know what meaty haphazards could come about", he joked.

Known for their craft butchery excellence and expertise, the Cornelscourt butcher shop will open its doors from 7am on Thursday 21st December until 6pm on Christmas Eve.

James Whelan Butchers opened its first shop in 1960 and now has six craft butcher shops throughout Dublin in Dunnes Stores and Avoca locations.
