There's a call for primary and secondary students to be offered one hot meal a day.
According to the Green Party, a school dinner programme would cost €350 million a year to run.
The party's Seamus Sheridan owns a cheese shop in the city centre.
He thinks the cost of the dinner programme would be worth it:
"I think the cost, if you look at the Department of Education, might be there. But it could be of massive benefit to the Irish agricultural system, create massive employment. Because that money we're using, and i've got young kids, more often than not, is bought on imported processed foods."
