The unemployment rate was 8.8% last month, the lowest it's been for 7 years.
That's unchanged from November's rate and a drop of 2.2% on the same time last year.
The seasonally adjusted number of people on the live register was 190,600 in December.
A decrease of 29,200 when compared to December 2014.
Meanwhile, Enterprise Ireland says 21,000 new jobs were created by Enterprise Ireland companies last year, with almost two thirds of these roles outside Dublin.
When job losses are taken into account, there was a net increase of 10,000 jobs in 2015.
There are now 192,223 people working in businesses supported by Enterprise Ireland.
