The Shelbourne Hotel has unveiled its shiny new facade.

Over the past 8 months, almost 100,000 bricks have been cleaned, 170 chimney pots and 312 windows have been restored and painted while sections of the roof have also been patched up.

Since it opened in 1824, The Shelbourne has hosted countless famous faces from popstars to politicians and actors to artists.

Its Oyster and Horeshoe bars are always packed around this time of year as family and friends gather for a special Christmas drink.

In 2004, The Shelbourne got an total makeover on the inside costing over €80M, but the outside of the building didn't have much done to it.

For this project, the hotel's carpark was turned into a workshop where a team of workers beavered away.
