A teenager has been charged in connection with extensive criminal damage at a public plaza in Ballymun in Dublin.

Gardaí say they carried out an extensive investigation and obtained a search warrant after the main public plaza in the area was damaged over the course of three hours on Tuesday afternoon.

The green area was torn up in the incident, with track marks across the area.

A raid on a house in Ballymun yesterday resulted in a teenage boy being arrested.

A sum of cash and a quantity of crack cocaine was also seized, along with a motorbike believed to be one of the vehicles involved in the incident.

The boy was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He has since been charged and is due to appear before Dublin Children's Court this morning, Thursday 25th January 2024.

A motorbike, that's believed to be stolen, and a quad bike were subsequently seized by Gardaí in the area.
