A man was stopped from taking his own life outside the Dail yesterday.
The man was spotted at the gates of Leinster house, and once people realised what he was about to do, a group of four ran down to save him.
The man was described as very distraught.
He said he was an abuse victim and that no one cared about him.
The man in his 40s was taken to St. James hospital where he is being treated.
There are now calls for more suicide prevention and mental health resources.
