A Tallaght woman is to stand trial charged with helping an MS sufferer die.

42-year-old Gail O'Rourke of Kilclare Gardens has pleaded not guilty to assisting the suicide of Bernadette Forde.

The 51-year-old passed away at her home on Morehampton Road two years ago.

Today, Tallaght woman Gail O’Rourke appeared in court accused of assisting in the 51 year old’s suicide on a date between March 10th and June 6th 2011.

Sergeant James Byrne gave evidence that the 42-year-old replied 'not guilty' when charged and cautioned earlier this morning at Donnybrook Garda Station.

The DPP has directed trial on indictment.

Gail O’Rourke has been served with the book of evidence and sent forward for trial to the current sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

She will make her first appearance there on December 13th.

There was no objection to legal aid and Judge Michael Walsh granted her bail.
