Management and unions at Irish Rail will return to the talks table this morning to try to avoid a bank holiday strike.
Train drivers on darts, commuter and inter-city services are threatening to walk off the job for three hours next Friday and Friday the 6th of November in a row over pay.
If the strike goes ahead it would cause massive disruption to commuters.
Members of SIPTU and the NBRU say they're owed money for past productivity, but Irish Rail claims any extra payments can only be made if staff are more productive in the future.
Negotiations are taking place at the Working Relations Commission formerly known as the LRC.
