Stoneybatter has been named Ireland's coolest neighbourhood.
Time Out Magazine surveyed 27,000 people globally to compile a list of the top 50 most exciting neighbourhoods.
The north Dublin suburb was placed at number 42 on the list.
The magazine says that the past year has seen “a string of great new openings, from vegan cafes to hot new bars, challenging other neighbourhoods vying for the crown”.
News of the win has been welcomed by politicians and locals alike.
World recognition at last for Stoneybatter! Great news.
The work of dozens of committed volunteers from @StoneybatterPoP and a thriving business community bearing fruit.

Living in Stoneybatter for the last 2.5 years. Does that make me cool by association/residence? I'm going with yes! 😆 https://t.co/hMDUSIUR15

Stoneybatter has taken the title from it's neighbouring suburb of Phibsborough who received the accolade in 2018.
Last year, it was ranked 27th in the world listings of top 50 most exciting neighbourhoods but it didn't make the cut.
