St.James's Hospital Calls Pest Control Over 100 Times In Two Years

One of Dublin's busiest hospitals has called in pest control over 100 times in the past two years.

St. James's Hospital has had to deal with recurring infestation problems.

Over €35,000 has been spent on pest control services in St James's Hospital since 2015.

Accoridng the Irish Indpendent, pest activity was reported in areas including a dialysis room, an endoscopy theatre and on bedside tables in wards.

Some of the insects found included cockroaches, mice and woodlice.

In particluar black clock beetles were found in a specialised unit for pateints undergoing bone marrow transplants.

The hospital's public relations company have yet to make comment on the issue which was released under the Freedom of Information Act.
