A Dublin football club is planning to build a stadium on top of a shopping centre in Inchicore.

St Patrick's Athletic has unveiled the proposal for the development at St Michael's Estate.

Leading international architect HRS has designed plans for a UEFA Category Three stadium.

The development would include a shopping centre and leisure facilities, while on top of it would sit a football stadium for 12,000 spectators.

The plans include building apartments on Emmet Road.

St Pat's president Tom O'Mahony says if given the go ahead, the project could be ready by 2020.
