Heavy rain is causing travel chaos across Dublin this evening.

Drivers are being warned to take extra care on the way home, with lightning and more downpours forecast.

Irish Rail says no Dublin to Maynooth / M3 trains are running because of lightning damage.

Drivers are being warned to take extra care on the way home this evening, with lightning and heavy rain forecast.

Dublin Fire Brigade has been called to deal with spot flooding in Churchtown, Terenure and Grafton Street.

Teams have also been sent to help in Rathmines, the IFSC and College Green.

The green Luas line is also down between Broombridge and Dominick because of a power issue, which isn't related to the weather.

Passengers are being told to expect delays along the entire Green Line this evening.

A power issue at Cabra means no trams are able to get out of the Broombridge depot.

Technicians are investigating if the fault is linked to another problem at Cabra a month ago.

The green line is expected to remain closed between Broombridge and Dominick for the rest of the day.

Dublin Bus and Irish Rail are accepting valid Luas tickets in the meantime.
