Dublin's southside has experienced the biggest Garda cuts over the past five years.

During this time there has been an increase in burglaries, anti-social behaviour and drug-related crime across the city.

New figures show Pearse Street, Kevin Street and Donnybrook Garda stations lost almost 150 Gardai over the past five years.

The Dublin East Division, which covers Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire, saw Garda numbers cut by 19 per cent, as did Dublin North, which takes in Balbriggan, Coolock, Santry and Ballymun.

Over the same time frame, Dublin crime figures show an increase in murders, rapes, assaults and burglaries.

Fianna Fail TD and Justice Spokesperson Niall Collins says communities across Dublin have been affected by garda cuts.

Store Street Garda Station was worst hit, losing 22pc of its gardai over five years.

The force currently stands at 12,799 members.
