Social housing is top of the government agenda this morning as ministers are set to approve an ambitious plan today.
This strategy aims to provide as many as 30 thousand new and refurbished homes over the next 4 to 5 years through a combination of new builds and refurbished local authority housing.
In the budget 2.2 million euro was earmarked for social housing between 2015 and 2017 but this plans is to be bigger and longer.
A public announcement is due later.
