A suspicious device found on an Air France flight heading to Paris was a false alarm, according to the company's Chief Executive.

The Boeing 777 travelling from Mauritius was forced to land in Kenya after a suspected bomb was found in a toilet on board.

Air France's boss claims the device didn't present a danger to passengers and crew.

Kenyan police say 6 passengers are being questioned over a suspected bomb found on an Air France plane that was forced to make an emergency landing in Kenya.

The police spokesperson said a passenger raised the alarm when they noticed something in a lavatory that looked like "a stopwatch mounted on a box."

The device has been examined by experts to assess if it contains explosives.
