David Spain had returned from Austraila to spend Christmas 2013 with his family.

At around 5.30am on St. Stephen's Day, the 26 year old was found on a road in Rathsallagh Park in Shankill.

He appeared to have been stabbed and was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

His friend Sean Turner was also rushed to hospital with stab wounds.

Wayne Kennedy is accused of the murder of David Spain and also of the assault of Sean Turner.

A jury made up of ten men and two women has been called.

Gardai and witnesses will be called to give evidence in court.

The trial of Mr Kennedy is due to begin on Thursday and will take up to five days.
