A man, who fled from an English court yesterday just before a jury found him guilty of downloading images of child abuse, has been found here in Dublin.
Arrangements are now being made to send Julian Myerscough back to the UK.
Julian Myerscough, a former university law lecturer, was yesterday found guilty of 16 counts of downloading indecent images of children.
But when the verdicts were delivered at Ipswich Crown Court, the 53-year-old was nowhere to be seen.
It later emerged that he’d fled the court during lunchtime and travelled to Dublin by ferry.
A European Arrest Warrant was issued and Gardai were put on high alert. He was arrested at a city centre hotel this morning, just hours before he was due to fly to Budapest.
An application for his extradition back to the UK is due to be made in the High Court later.
