Gardai are investigating a rental scam in the north inner city that led to a German student and several others being robbed of thousands of euro.
The fraudster advertised his room at Mountjoy Square and then left without a trace after taking deposits and rent from at least seven people.
It’s believed the suspect, who called himself “Rickie” and claimed to be Dutch, has since left the country.
