Dublin City Council is preparing to activate a second camera to catch motorists breaking red lights.
This time its set to be installed at a busy bottle neck in the city.
The first automated traffic light camera was installed at Benburb Street earlier this year.
The junction on the Luas red line has seen several crashes between cars and trams.
Gardai said the camera had reduced the number of daily incidents of red light running from high to low.
The council is now taking steps to connect a camera at the junction of Con Colbert Road and the South Circular Road which is a busy junction at rush hour.
It is also considering using cameras to capture images of motorists using bus lanes.
