It's been confirmed that Santa Claus has set off from Lapland and is on his way.
In a statement, North Pole Press said Mr Claus is taking advantage of the North Westerly winds and will travel clockwise around the world this Christmas Eve.
A spokesperson said there was a slight delay in setting off this morning - when the key to the toy shed went missing.
However the smallest elf eventually found it - in Santa Claus’s beard.
