98FM News has learned that Dublin City Council has 'major concerns' about the development of three skyscrapers in the Docklands.

NAMA is financially backing the project, which could transform the former Bolands Mill at Grand Canal Dock into offices, apartments and retail space.

Dublin City Council is now looking for more information on the plans at the protected site.

This development falls under new planning rules for the Grand Canal and North Lotts areas and can’t be appeal once it’s approved.

However, the plans haven’t been given the green light because city officials aren’t happy with the layout.

They want the developer to rethink the design of the residential block, they’re concerned about the public walkways and the safety of people who use them and want wind tunnel tests carried out.

They’re also not happy with the location of the public spaces, especially the playground and want it changed.

It could be a number of months before the revisions and test results are received by the council.
