Following last weeks appeal to identify a body found on the beach in Bray last month, a person has come forward to say they believed they know who he was.

The man's remains were discovered close to rocks on the north end of the pier on Monday March 27th.

Tests are now being carried out to formally confirm his identity.

The man was 6 foot 1, in his 40s and quite thin. He was described as white, with blue eyes and dark brown hair greying around the temple.

Officers published photos of the mans clothes in a bid to trigger someone's memory.

He had an unusual war book on him called "Rommel?" "Gunner Who?" by Spike Milligan.
